Facebook Marketplace Find, VV-XI Tabletop

I thought that I was going after a parts machine, but for $150.00, I figured that the brake was worth that, so I didn’t dicker and agreed on the asking price. I knew that the machine had been used as a plant stand, so I figured that it would be good source of parts and well worth the money. I like the XI tabletops and once I got it home I decided that this would not be a parts machine. I am preserving and bringing back the finish, (I don’t mind a little character). I think that it is coming along nicely and I am very happy with my $150.00 investment. Facebook has been good for my collecting. It is where I found my Walnut VV-120, Oak VV-130, Oak VV-XVI L-Door “C”, Mahogany VV-XVIII and now this VV-XI tabletop among others. I know that some members avoid it, but I think that Facebook Marketplace is a great source for all kinds of things, (on second thought, avoid Facebook Marketplace, there is nothing good to be found there). I will post better pictures a after I get it finished. The first image is before elbow grease.

Just beautiful! I love these early Victor tabletop machines. Good job on the cleanup. It would have been a sin to part it out.

Interesting early machine.
It appears to have a round-hole reproducer, and even the spindle top appears to have been gold plated.
