No, no problems fitting them on actually, I only replaced the flanges with new ones cuz the old ones were naturally all dried out and rock-hard. The one original flange with the protruding lip didn't want to fit, again simply because it was so petrified.
The lip I speak of is flange rubber that extends about ⅛" out of the end of the soundbox hole, I've removed a few old Victor flanges like that. Usually the old flange is flush with the end of soundbox hole, just like all the available replacement flanges are. Not sure why some had these extra-long flanges, maybe they were made to fit a certain variant of tonearm ends like on portables or something? The lip looks like it was meant to provide extra sealing with the tonearm but not sure.
