Edison Bedplate
I have an Edison bedplate that is dull. I noticed some small areas where the shellac has peeled from the bedplate and a lustrous shine shows through. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to bring back the shine? Maybe polish the bedplate while retaining the original finish or remove the old shellac and recoat with a new layer of orange shellac? Maybe leave well enough alone? Thanks!

Re: Edison Bedplate
Based upon advice I sought, I brought back the bed plate of a Triumph using fantastik and paper towels. I turned out, in my case, the bed plate was coated in years of grease, wax and dust. It came out real nice, not super shinny, but very clean and presentable. Just be careful around the pin striping and markings.
