An Original Edison Amberola 50 Catalog Ad from 1919-1920...

Originally, The Amberola 50 was priced at $50 from 1915 to 1918. Because of Wartime shortages on materials during WW1 and War taxes, towards the end of WWI, The price was increased to a price of $68. An $18 increase at the end of 1918 into 1919 was a sizable sum for the average consumer, but Edison was able to "Stretch" this out for consumers through his "Layaway" plan buying options making buying easier. This was also done for the 30 and 75 models as well respectively.
