Re: FOR SALE: 1909 Oak Amberola A-1 (3 options)
I've got the identical machine, serial #2553, and it's my favorite Edison and "go to" player. The Amberola A-1 was the finest 2&4 minute Edison ever made. I've always said this is the one machine I'm taking to the old folks phono home. Good luck with your sale. I'm confident the buyer will be delighted. Friendly suggestion... Don't miss out on the two reproducer option. You'll be

My vent puckers thinking of that abrasive plaster dragging across that beautiful anodized finish! Wax only, please!

Re: PENDING: 1909 Oak Amberola A-1 - $4700 (FIRM)
You can always wrap the mandrel in a sheet of paper before inserting the blue amberol, or put the paper forming a tube inside the plaster core, then sliding the cylinder into the mandrel

I love my A-1 also an have the same reproducers rebuilt by Steve. Mine is from about 1910 and does not have the cloven feet but it sounds great!
