What all do you think it needs? Are there parts missing or just needs a new mainspring? What condition is the reproducer in? Can you post pictures? If you don't mind shipping the motor and/or the reproducer, there are a few vendors that offer to install the mainspring and do other repairs. Search for Ron Sitko in the Links section.

Whereabouts in Illinois? There are a number of Forum members from Illinois. Hopefully they can assist also.

Ron Haring is in IL. I don't have his contact info handy but if it's not in the Links section, I'm sure it's somewhere on the board...

PM him, and I'm sure he'll get back to you.

Well, my machine runs. It just needs to be checked by someone who knows about them I suppose. I’ve ordered a second exhibition reproducer that has been rebuilt, so my machine will sound decent :3

You probably should just rebuild your original Exhibition reproducer. Save yourself a little money and you can have the old original that came with it working perfectly.

I see this all the time. People buy a new phonograph and they buy a repaired reproducer to go with it, when all they really need is just a few spare parts and some time. The rebuild kit will cost you a lot less & if you can fix a pair of eyeglasses you can fix an Exhibition.

If I were in Illinois I'd be glad to help with the motor but I can't--I'm in South Carolina and might or might not be fixing to move sometime next month which would put a real damper on any jobs like fixing that. You just had Mr Mike S. and Shawn Borri reply to you. They are good collectors & honest men. I bought a phonograph horn from Mr Mike and Mr Shawn is one of the few people in America who still makes wax Edison phonograph cylinders (which he has the original formulae for) and basically he can run a 1900s-style Edison recording studio wherever he sets down his equipment.

Good luck as you continue getting more into the Victrolas!
