Identifying Phonograph In H.C. Spier's Record Store

Post by Wolfe »

The phonograph behind the woman, with the odd covering/finish. Can't say I've ever sawed one like it,
outside of something that some hippy, in later years, had repainted or something. :D Anyone that can identify the model?

It looks like an embossed faux leather covering that has caught the light

Could be, but at a closeup, it almost looks like something painted.

The unit on the far left and front of the picture looks like a Victor RE-45. That would date the picture to 1929 or so.

You're probably correct that its a printed fabric, but look at the embossed fabric on this Russian portable:

I would embed the pictures but I can't seem to save them.

Probably fairly decent- I have a Parlophone styled like that- it has a decently long horn.
