Wanted A Model Triumph 2/4 min conversion

Post by Gnufe »

Hi,

I have an A Model Triumph in a B model case serial 44k. I bought 2/4 min conversion for a B Model Triumph thinking they were the same.. Well they aren’t.. So, I’d like to trade my B model kit for an A or buy or make some sort of deal to get a kit for my A model Triumph.

Thanks,

Stuart

What parts of the conversion kit are the same between an A and B machine? More importantly, what parts do you need?

Hi Jerry,

I don’t know what the differences are.. The B parts appear to be ¼ inch longer than the 2 min mandrel. So, I’d prefer to buy or trade for a complete kit.

Thanks,

Stuart

Usually the parts that are unique to a particular model are stamped with a letter indicating the intended model.

Hi Jerry,

Yes, I’ve figured that out.. I thought the bedplate was similar between the A and B, but They aren’t. I could convert mine to a B model and buy the top works.. I’d rather not do that, though..

Thanks,

Stuart

The bits and pieces are marked. Sometimes, they are difficult to see. I would appreciate comments particularly about the one with prongs.

Definitely marked "B."

Could be an "E" but I think it's a "B." What are the prongs for?

The feed screw appears to be marked "I T B". I'm not sure about the "I" but I suspect the T means Triumph and the B means Model B. Could anyone comment on the "I?"
