You're right: The Columbia Phonograph Companion reveals it's a Columbia AU, not a Victor machine and nothing to do with schools.

judging from the spindle, it looks more like a Standard AA to me...

I agree, it's a Standard. Out of 9 words and a 4 digit date, only 3 words seem to be relevant.
