Replacement Diaphragm with link for Edison R/S Reproducers??

Post by Zener424 »

I'm looking to replace a damaged copper diaphragm on an Edison Model S reproducer. I also have an R that could use a diaphragm as well. I looked at the vendors that are online, and I checked eBay, but it doesn't seem like anyone carries them? Does anyone have a source?

I was also thinking maybe a could use mica? Another thought was use an Amberola diaphragm, remove the string, and install a pin through the diaphragm? Seems to me the pin would be able to rotate as required for the 2/4 minute selection on an S. The R of course wouldn't need to rotate.

Thoughts and suggestions please.

You have to get them apart before you replace the diaphragm. Do you have a way to remove the reduction rings?
