Great tips for selling your DDs and machines at the next swap meet...

I enjoyed reading it so much I downloaded each image and converted them to a PDF file so I could read it many times. Thanks Rich for posting it.

Very interesting piece of literature. I have a similar document dated October 1914. It's in pamphlet form ("Form 2669"), with a total of 72 pages. The first nine pages provide information and selling tips about the Diamond Disc machines and records. The rest of the pamphlet provides detailed information about individual records, to be used by the salesman to emphasize while demonstrating the record to customers. It's 4" wide and 9" tall, sized I imagine to fit into the breast pocket of a coat or jacket. Indeed, the salesman is advised to "Keep this book with you all of the time."

Interesting how the salesman's points disparage the concept of "tone", when Edison had large public demonstrations on stage that were called "Tone Tests"...

I saw the phrase "talking till you are black in the face" and have never heard that term before. I am familiar with "blue" in the face but not black.
