Columbia BC with Higham reproducer
Who repairs Higham reproducers? We seem to be missing the shoe and amber wheel.

Re: Columbia BC with Higham reproducer
The replacement parts for BC's are in process and won't be finished until hopefully later this year. Columbia had a very successful run on this model with almost 10,000 of these units being produced. Quite a few are still out there. I reckon several hundred still exist mostly in broken unrestored condition. Without a doubt they are a beautifully made machine. The technology for it's time is fascinating. It's amazing how they were able to discover this principal of mechanically assisted sound amplification. Simply put the mechanism increases diaphragmatic movement which in turn exponentializes sound output quite dramatically. A normally loud indestructible recording becomes obnoxiously loud when playing it on a properly functioning BC.
