Hello All,
With family and work taking up all my time, it is time to find a home for these two players. Both are functional. The Victrola does have a pot metal reproducer which would benefit from a rebuild. Felt on both is original, finish is original. For details on each...
Edison
- Purchased in 2009 in central Ohio. When purchased it had a repair to one of the legs and was missing the grill cloth. The original oil-soaked stat sheet was found in the unit, listing this as a fumed oak finish. Will be provided in the sale.
My changes/repairs include:
- New grill cloth
- New gaskets and new diaphragm for the reproducer
- Added a double main spring can and quieter governor from a C-250 (I have the original S-19 main spring and governor which are included with this sale)
- Cleaned the turntable felt (which is original)
Victrola
- Purchased in Columbus, Ohio in 2010. I am the third owner, having purchased it from the daughter of the original owner.
My changes/repairs include:
- Polish it with orange oil
- Replaced the rubber gommet for the soundbox. The latter is potmetal and could use a rebuild and the mainspring removed and regreased.
- Basic lubrication
Have new soft and medium tone needles to toss in and will include a few 78s as well.
Prices are negotiable for both. If I break even I'm fine with that, but I want to see them off to good homes. I will not ship - local pick up in Alexandria, VA only.
Happy to send an array of photographs upon request, but here are a few to start with.
