Just Picked up an L-Door XVI in Flemish Oak...

Post by JerryVan »

Found on FB Marketplace near me. It has a few scratches and some lifted veneer that simply needs re-gluing. Very happy with it. Always wanted an L-Door, but cold never seem to find the right one. I love the dark wood contrasted by the gold plating. An early "B" version, with bullet brake & "Victor Victrola" decal.

Would REALLY like to find an "E" record box for it, (or D, F or G for that matter). Can you help?

Nice machine. Much harder to find in oak, and much prettier IMHO.

Bill,

It has 9... but supposed to have 10. Hoping to find a 12" box.

Isn’t this a Fumed Oak finish? My understanding is that Flemish Oak is almost black in appearance. I have a Flemish Oak LDoor and it’s black. Just a thought. Yours is a beautiful machine either way!

Wes,

To be honest, to me it looks darker than fumed oak, but just a bit lighter than Flemish. It definitely looks lighter in these photos than to the naked eye. I basically flipped coin and decided Flemish, but I value your take on it and invite others to add their experience.
