Congratulations! My L-door is my favorite Victrola, but mine is just the regular mahogany. Your dark oak finish is stunning! And yours is a bit earlier than mine with the record boxes instead of albums. Great find!

Thanks Andreas. I love the contrast of the gold plating against the dark oak.

Beautiful dark Oak. Congratulations on a nice find. Great decal too. Facebook is a great place to find treasures.

Even better (she claims): Polish.

I restored and sold a 1912 L door in a common mahogany color. It turned out well but was a lot of extra work with all the compartments and drawer. I have another one in inventory but am in no hurry to restore it, have 2 17s and a regular 16 ahead of it. I also found the VTLA motor difficult, had trouble with the springs. I just finished restoring an 18 that took 3 months to do, hope to reassemble after the finish cures and can be rubbed out. Jerry, the hardware on your L door looks amazing, did you polish it or re-plate or did it come that way?
