VV-IV Screws

Post by Sethallen1973 »

Just picked this little machine up yesterday. Does anybody know if the four big screws on each corner of the motor board are original to it? According to the serial number this VV-IV was produced in mid 1912.

My best guess is that they were added some time later. They look like the typical machine screw that holds the motor board to the rest of the cabinet in a larger Victrola. Do they serve a useful purpose?

Beautiful little machine!

I'm also wondering about the two little roundhead brass screws on either side. On a machine like this, I would think two wood screws hold the motor board down. Are their any countersinks?

No they are not even screws just flat head top with very short smooth shaft where threads should be. doesn't go all the way through motor board. Maybe someone crafted a dust cover years ago?

The two small screws hold motor board down. I've seen others of this model with these just not the larger ones.

I also just picked up the same model but from 1914. Here is a pic of my screw placement.
