1898 Gram O Phone Chrismas ad.

Post by fmblizz »

Ran across this large Gram O Phone Christmas ad printed in the Dec. 10, 1898 issue of Scientific American.

They say in the ad "Do not confuse it with the instruments using wax records that are ruined by a touch" LOL

It's also interesting to see included in this ad the mention that #1 the records are Flat not cylindrical, #2 permanent #3, my favorite (records are signed as proof of authenticity ) and #4 made by experts.

I was wondering why this ad would show up in 1998, but then I read your title...
"The phonograph† is not of any commercial value."
Thomas Alva Edison - Comment to his assistant, Samuel Insull.

"No one needs a Victrola XX, a Perfected Graphophone Type G, or whatever you call those noisy things."
