I'm looking for a replacement tonearm support bracket for 1-90 and I need to know what machines had compatible brackets.
I see that orthophonics had brackets with the pivot screw on top and without. 1-90 has the one with the screw on top. Were there different variations of this bracket?
I might be able to get a bracket from VV 4-4. Was it the same bracket as on 1-90?
Thank you.

I’m still looking for a back bracket for a VV-2-60 portable machine! I hope you have better luck finding your bracket than I have been finding for that portable!

Re: Tonearm support bracket variants on orthophonic Victrola
The tonearm bracket for your 1-90 is part number 17641AE and is the most common type of Orthophonic bracket, you will have no trouble finding a replacement from our various parts suppliers.
It was used on these models and their electric counterparts:
4-4, 4-7, 4-40, 7-30, 8-4, 8-7, 8-30, 8-60, 9-15, 9-40, 12-25 and 1-90.
On the other hand the 2-60 uses part number 19337AE and is unique to the 2-60.
BTW, the part number does not appear on the part itself so that may make identification difficult. Use the part dimensions or the source machine to determine the fit.

Mark, thank you very much for this info. That is a very deep knowledge, I couldn't find tonearm or support bracket variants even in Victor Data Book. Just out of curiosity, how do you know these part numbers?
