SOLD: Victor "E" Front Mount w/ Gibson Arm- nice $975

Post by outune »

Here's a very nice, original Victor E with the Gibson tonearm-- This machine has been in my collection for 20+ years. Finish is original and is excellent condition-- Turntable felt is original-- Horn in very nice original condition with a few small touch ups in black paint along edge of bell-- See picture #3. Rubber grommet in elbow is intact but hard. Original Exhibition long-throat reproducer--with new gaskets.. Original crank has a couple wear-grooves in it-- (one pic shows a repro crank--oops-- comes with original crank) Most of data label on bottom of case. Nickel plating on turntable edge, brake, speed control is very good. A little nickel wear on support arm. Plays well. Motor is very quiet for one of these early machines. Played through about 2 ¼, 10 inch discs. Likely dates about 1903-04.

Just a very nice example of a front mount "E"-- Lots of pictures-- please take a look. Please don't hesitate to ask questions-- and as usual--first to say "sold" gets it.
$975 plus shipping to your location in the US. Actual postage costs only-- nothing added for materials.

Thanks-

Brad Abell

Nice machine Brad. Can someone please explain what the "Gibson Arm" refers to. I have the same arm on my Victor R and Victor P
Thanks

The "Gibson Arm" refers to the stamped metal traveling arm, which was supposedly lighter and less bulky than the earlier wooden arms.

On the Victors R and P, the Gibson Arm is apparently rather rare, compared to the E.
