Today (November 2) is Victor Day. It is the day 95 years ago when the Victor Talking Machine Company introduced electric recordings along with a series of new Orthophonic talking machines to play the new electrically made recordings on.
November 2 is also the 100th anniversary of commercial public radio broadcasting originating from KDKA Pittsburgh. Also on November 2 two events from 1936: the launch of the first regularly scheduled high definition television service by the BBC and the first day of broadcasting by the CBC in Canada.
