So, Steve, did that make a difference in the sound, or do you think it may just be clogged-up with pubic hair (from all the brothels these things were allegedly in!) 
I have to say that it didn't matter what ungodly rare machines I had in my collection, this is the one that impresses the casual visitor and that they remember the most. I think that there should be one in every collection to serve as a demonstrator for the great unwashed.

How about a closeup of the sound box. Is it a Mica or Metal diaphragm?

John, your comment brings new meaning to the word diaphragm as related to phonographs... There is a label on the bottom that says property of the Chicken Ranch, LaGrange, TX-- but I thought it had something to do with a precursor of KFC?
And speaking of diaphragm, it is metal but the reproducer (OK what's with all these terms and their connection to John's comment?) is not original to the machine. I think it would have originally had a mica one as pictured in Tim and George's book referenced earlier in this thread.
