It seems that with every Canadian Berliner phonograph I encounter, that I discover discrepancies between like models. Is it from the Berliner factory, or jobbers, or simply changes made by the owners over the years. Below are 3 Berliner Model C's, from left to right serial numbers C83, C669 and C1031. Placed side by side, the differences are immediately apparent. C83 and C669 came out of a senior's home, so I would have expected them to be close to original, but they are not. A few Canadian Antique Phonograph Society members are working on gathering as much information as possible on the Berliner Models B and C. If you have one of these machines, please contact me so that we can gather information about your machine. Mark Caruana-Dingli's book "The Berliner Gramophone an Illustrated History" is our best source for information on the Berliner models, but we struggle with discrepancies. Thank you for your interest.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Blain
