Congratulations, Mike! Your Zonophone Concert Grand looks beautiful (as does the rest of your collection)!

Coincidentally, two weeks ago I acquired an early Zono Concert Grand from the great-granddaughter of the original owner. She gave me the complete provenance, along with an old cabinet photograph of her great-grandfather. This machine had been untouched, so it wasn't nearly as pretty as yours:

Its light restoration should be finished this week. I still lack a Type B Zono...

I'd be curious to know the serial number of your Concert Grand, if you'd be willing.

Again, congratulations on a beautiful example and collection - -

Oh my! I have been very happy to find any Zonophone machine and I did find one. What a wonderful collection you have and just great to see them all. Neil

Thanks George. The early concert grand has been on my wish list for awhile. Yours is amazing. To find one in the wild like that with all of the provenance to go with it is truely remarkable these days. Getting one that is complete and all original is really remarkable also. I felt fortunate to get one that was completely original including the original tone arm support bracket. Congratulations!! I will gladly let you know the serial number when I get a chance to look at it.

You may have noticed that my Zonophone display includes a copy of your book opened the page on Zonophones. Since my Zonophone A is the one photographed in your book it seemed appropriate to show what it looks like published. It seems I have picked up several machines that were pictured on you books. I may need to buy a lot more copies if I continue that theme.

As a matter of fact, I did notice that, Mike! ...And you've let the cat out of the bag: the more copies of our books you buy, the likelihood of acquiring one of the pictured items grows exponentially!

Strangely enough, since the books were published, I too have been able to add a few of the pictured items to my own collection. You never know what may appear out of the blue.

Hi all,

@Mlund2020 - Mike, Have the photos all been deleted from this important and much appreciated thread? Or is there a problem with the new forum platform? I see none of the OP's photos.

Best,

I believe that these are the photos from my original post. I tend to not leave photos up after the initial post has been relegated to the history books. This is a habit I had gotten into when I used to post on social media. I am no longer on any social media platforms which I abandoned after watching ‘The Social Dilemma’ (a must watch for everyone) and my general disgust for big tech in general. Now the talking machine forum and APS forum are the limits of my social media exposure.

Thank you very much, Mike. I just wasn't sure there might've been an issue when the platform was changed. I appreciate your help. I just can't get enough of the Zonophone "family", and especially the early models.

Best regards,

Hi Bob, for whatever reason your link doesn't show any thread content.

Best,
