This was a fun thread. From what I have been able to tell Kratz, Edfred's, and O'Neil's were the three big phono/ record dealers in downtown Akron in the early part of the 20th cent'y. Maybe Polsky's Dept. Store too but I have yet to find evidence of this. Can't imagine they would not have, though.

Kratz was a fairly large operation that dealt in way more than pianos. When I was in Akron they were strictly sheet music and instruments, though.

Yes it was ;) Whenever I get around to getting a picture frame and setting up a display for it, I will post a picture!

Cheers,

David, you can download and print all of the information that I posted to keep with your machine as documentation or if you want a copy emailed to you, just PM me.

This is quite a fun thread!

Highlights two things:

- the volume of data available at anyone's fingertips seems infinite, but it has its limits. Mr Kratz's shoe size is still to be discovered, as well as saucy details about his personal life.

- there is a sleuth lurking in everyone's mind!

"Mr Kratz's shoe size is still to be discovered"...

It's 10 ½ medium, according to his personal shoemaker... :?  ;)

I finally had time to finish cleaning the case. It came out pretty good!
