My oak L door has the same exact type of darker stain on the inside of the machine just like this one. This is completely normal and original.

There is no need for an apology. $900 is a lot of money for almost any Victrola and even if mildly interested one needs to look with a critical eye. That's all any of us were doing, Any yes, I would like to see the decal as well. Jerry Blais
The decal is up a few posts Jer. Looks perfect.
There is no need for anyone to apologize I appreciate all the in-put on this beautiful machine

I know this is an old thread but wanted to put my 2 cents in, the decal is not always a good way to tell if a machine has been refinished, here is a photo of a fully refinished machine (including under the lid) I did that included a replica decal

Most don't go to the trouble of using a new decal. Plus, it's only been in fairly recent years that really good decals are available, (thank you Gregg Cline). Add to that, nobody outside of the hobby, (where it seems most refinishing is done), knows that decals are even available.

good to know. I always try to save the original decal but if I have to restore under the lid, the last thing I want is to have one of those restores where the decal is darker than the rest because it was sanded around, very half assed in my opinion. I have only replaced one original and that is on my personal walnut machine. BTW, the decal in my picture came from a guy in Peru who sells them on ebay, very high quality. it is buried in several coats of clear so almost undetectable (for most people) as an aftermarket logo.

This for sale post is from 2016... is this Victrola still for sale?
