SOLD: Three Victor Victrola Schoolhouse Booklets - $49.00

From the Educational Department of the Victor Talking Machine Company, we have three booklets for sale for one money.

The larger booklet in center, “The Victrola in Correlation with English and American Literature,” has an embossed Nipper & Gramophone in center of the cover and is in very good clean condition, copyright 1921. The 68-page text describes methods of correlating various Victor record selections with works of literature in the classroom. Songs, music, and spoken word poetic selection are paired with authors being studied. (5 ⅞” x 9” booklet)

At left (see photo) is an unusual booklet titled: “The Victrola in Music Memory Contests,” copyright 1922, 1923. The 91-page text features paragraphs of descriptive information featuring classical record selections. Composer information, orchestra arrangement, and background of featured selections are given for over 500 record selections. The last pages illustrate the “Instruments of the Orchestra” poster display available for dealers and picture and information regarding the Victrola XXV Schoolhouse and No. 50 Portable phonographs. Condition is good with dealer stamp on cover. Some pencil writing on top and paper ware in lower-right corner. (5”x 7 ¾” booklet)

The booklet on the right is the 63-page “The Victrola in Physical Education, Recreation and Play,” Sept. 1918. It is a “must have” to accompany the Schoolhouse XXV. There is some pencil writing on the front cover and a dealer stamp on the back. Condition is very good with no bends, curls, or distractive wear. Contains many photos of schools illustrating uses of the Victor Schoolhouse in the classroom and for outdoor physical activity. Your old high school may be pictured. Contains pages of suggested record titles for various ethnic communities and folk dancing. (5” x 7 ¼”)
