Inspired by a related topic in the UK/European Trader section I am seriously rethinking about a project I explored some years ago but never had the time nor the need to complete.
Some weeks ago I sent a newly made template to some bespoke spring manufacturers.
Hardened Carbon Steel CS70 or CS80 (old BS1449 spec, it is a close equivalent to C75S and AISI /SAE 1075) has been considered for the material.
These newly made springs can be used to replace broken ones but also hypothetically improve the performance of the soundboxes having full compliance (I found that some of the original ones can be quite rigid).
I would like to test the waters to see if there is any interest in purchasing them (an estimated price for the members of this forum would be 10£ for the single and 18£ for the couple). Of course the manufacturer will send me a sample before completing the order so any and all adjustments can be made.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
P.S; due to some problems with the poll please let me know directly by replying this topic or via PM. If a sufficient number is reached I will let you know when the order will be submitted.

The poll function does not work on the "anachronist" board style. It works if you change you setting to "prosilver". This is in the user control panel under board settings.

Since I asked for a high degree of precision there are some aspects that needs to be addressed during the manufacturing process. If you know a cheaper manufacturer please let me know. Thank you for notifying me about the poll however as stated by 52089 it is a problem with the updates of PhpBB.soundgen wrote:seems a bit expensive to me , the last time I had Exhibition springs made they were £7 a pair . Thank-you. I will definitely keep you posted. If I recall correctly you did something similar with EMG springs, am I right?emgcr wrote:

I have long been thinking of making the EMG soundbox springs but, to date, have not got around to it---too many projects ! Might you be able to combine the two projects ? I think you would have lots of takers.

I perfectly understand what you mean!emgcr wrote:I have long been thinking of making the EMG soundbox springs but, to date, have not got around to it---too many projects ! Might you be able to combine the two projects ? I think you would have lots of takers.
Combining the two projects might be interesting however there is no EMG soundbox in my collection so I am not able to take the needed measurements.
