Evolution of cylinder record boxes
I thought someone posted information, with pictures, of the evolution of Edison cylinder record boxes but I'm unable to locate it through the search. Any information on this topic would be appreciated.

Timing is sometimes a funny thing... After discussing this with the OP last week, I was working today on a thread devoted to this topic. I just finished it, and it's posted here:

George you show the last Blue Amberol box as type 20 without the .35 cent price. Actually there are two types of this box, one with the .35 cent price and one without the .35 cent price. I can send pictures if you want them.

I've been promised a color picture of a Type 3 label too...
Thanks for the kind words. These are the sort of projects I like doing.Gatyam wrote:George, you are to be commended for some truly excellent work here. Kudos!

This morning I was thinking about how easy it would have been for me to overlook a Type 20 box with a price on it, so I ran upstairs for a quick look. Good grief - - when I opened a cabinet, staring me in the face were several! I just shot one and added it to the post:

Thanks again for bringing this to my attention - much appreciated!
