Just think that polished clean metal surfaces, under pressure tend to stick, because of the metal characteristics. It's a well known phenomenon. So the little drop off oil is a MUST if you want it to slide freely. It can make all the difference!

That notch wasn't factory made. Those didn't come out until Edison started offering the big horns later on - about the time of the Model D. You've really done a nice job. Good luck on getting it to play steady. I had a Home Model A with the 2&4 min attachment that kept me chasing a warble for a long time. Little things I did would help a bit. I finally found the inner mandrel shaft was slightly bent and was barely rubbing the inside of the feed screw. After sanding the shaft, it cleared most of it up. Again, nice job.dzavracky wrote: Sat Dec 19, 2020 8:38 pmOne thing I found odd about the machine... is that it has the divot for the crane assembly. But the hole wasn’t cut for the piece to slide into the case.

You really need to take a look at the little wheel on the belt tensioner. It has to move absolutely freely, but often they are gummed up. My Standard didn't play cylinders until I took care of that.
Good luck

Thank you everyone for the advice.
I am going to take apart everything again and start over. I will do my best to make sure that everything is running without friction.
Updates to come hopefully this weekend!

Re: Edison Home Model B restoration
I got it runnin!! It sounds amazing, and it’s even better with a bigger horn
It was as simple as taking the top works apart, and just putting it together again. I made lots of little adjustments until it worked! The only thing I’ve got left is to adjust the half nut.
I’ve attached 2 videos, one with the 14” horn and a second with a morning glory I just got.
Thank you guys for all the help!
