They are recognized by ONLY gold bed plate pinstriping with tufts of grass at the corners which beckoned to the earlier model Edison A and B series cylinder phonographs. This is a beautiful original early model Fireside and it plays about a sweet as you could or would ever expect any Edison cylinder phonograph to play. Click on the video below to see and hear for yourself. {The snow was melting on our roof which is the droplet sounds heard in the video} This has about 98% of its original gold bed plate striping. The cabinet has a nice proud original decal and the motor runs smooth and true. I've only lightly dusted this machine since I purchased it over 20 years ago. The Model C reproducer has been rebuilt and adjusted with new supple gaskets and includes a new stylus and stylus bar for outstanding sound. All else is completely original on this. This is the only early model Fireside I have ever found 'in the wild' in many years of collecting and I was pleased to see how nicely it had been kept.
