Hi Hope all is well with all! I have a collection of catalogs ( Lafayette, Allied ) from the thirty's and forty's and all sell more then a few " record cutting ( recording ) machines for "flat" records ranging in price from as low as $200. ( see Lafayette catalog 1938 ). I'd love to own one but they almost never show up on Ebay and when they do they either don't work, are well over $1000,00 or missing parts. As far as " blanks" are concerned they never show up!. Now I have restored radios from the 1930's, Edison record players from the 1900's, and even an Edison cylinder cutter.
So they must have sold a ton of them so where are they? My gosh they even had them in Penny Arcades in the Fifty's ( sad that I remember them but I guess it's better then the alternative).
I would love to have one cut . Does anyone know anyone who does this work with flat records?
Well as I said everyone stay safe!
