I need to make a knob for the lift lever that engages the feedscrew on an Edison DD. Were they always black? The machine that needs one is an oak H-19 and I was considering using oak. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks!

Re: Diamond Disc Lift Knob Question
Some were black, some weren't. In any case, this is a pretty common part that most of us DD folks (including me) have spares of. Just drop me a note if you're interested.

Re: Diamond Disc Lift Knob Question
The wooden lift levers on the A-series Edison Disc Phonographs were finished to match the cabinet. That changed with the B- and C-series New Standardized Motor. All H 19s should have the typical black lift lever.

Thanks, George! I have a black one coming and don't need to make one.
