Thomas Edison's 174th Birthday

Post by JimN »

Happy Edison's birthday! He was born February 11, 1847. Is anyone planning a celebration? I might have a piece of birthday cake and play some Blue Amberols on my Edison School.

This morning I played a total of ten records on my three Edison machines. My wife also called two relatives who also share Edison's birthday.
What have other forum members done to celebrate?

Celebrated with birthday cake and coffee. Also got out my Edison employee birthday pins.

How did I celebrate? I had two flashlight tours of the Thomas Edison Depot Museum in Edison's boyhood home town of Port Huron. It's in the original 1858 train depot he worked in as a teenager. We had all the lights off and the tour was held using flashlights. As an homage to his work with the light bulb we had the lights off to appreciate his contribution.

I know I’m belated but I couldn’t not wish the man who embellished his name one these great machines and records (and invented the playback system for them) a Happy (belated) Birthday now can I? 😃

Here’s a song just for you Thomas!
