I'm looking for an actual Edison Model Q reproducer. Model Q reproducers are technically Model O reproducers with the trowel weight. Early Model O reproducers with the circular weight were thought to cause premature record wear, so owners of these reproducers were invited to return them to the dealer and have the weight trimmed to a trowel shape and re-stamped as a Model Q. Not all of them were stamped as Q. It is also believed some of the last Model O reproducers to be distributed were marked as a Q.
If anyone has an actual reproudcer marked with a Q, and is willing to sell, please let me know.
I'd also love to see a photo of one.
Thank you.

Attached is a screenshot from George Frow's excellent "The Edison Cylinder Phonograph Companion". It is now available in digital form and well worth the money. http://mulhollandpress.com/styled-5/sty ... index.html

Re: WANTED: EDISON MODEL Q REPRODUCER
Thank you for posting the photos from the Frow digital edition. These pics are certainly bettter than what is in print.
I have never seen actual photos of a Q other than the Frow book. It seems the majority of trowel weighted Model O reproducers are still stamped O. I would love to see photos of a true Model Q, with the hope to buy one.

Re: WANTED: EDISON MODEL Q REPRODUCER
In the 57 years I have been involved with the phonograph hobby and the hundreds of Model O reproducers that I have restored and or owned I can honestly say that I have never seen one marked Q. But that doesn't mean they don't exist as even after 57 years something new is still popping up. It is what keeps things exciting!

Thanks Paul;
I was wondering because also haven't seen a reproducer with a Q. Hopefully someone out there has one or has seen one to verify.

There's a single image of a Q-stamped Model O on Edisonshop.com, it seems.
