Been looking for a decent one for a while and after some negotiation I got this for $265. Seems like a little Restore-a-finish and some TLC will get it to real nice condition. I am picking it up on Saturday after the rain stops and was wondering if it would hurt it to lay it down for transport.

Take off the tonearm, reproducer and turntable before laying it down... and use something to keep the lid closed.

Re: New 8-30x
My Credenza X was transported on its back from IL to Rochester, NY with no trouble. I'd remove the TT, and tonearm beforehand, and secure the cabinet doors and lid..

Re: New 8-30x
As it's laying on it's back, be very careful to lift it up a bit before attempting to slide it out of your vehicle. Failure to do so, will cause the back edge of the lid veneer to catch on your vehicle's carpeting/mat and peel off a sickening little chunk of veneer. It's a very disappointing thing!

Re: New 8-30x
Or put it on a large piece of cardboard or a moving blanket and move it together with that. That avoids the veneer catching. Also be aware of the lid latch for your trunk when you slide it in and out, as well as other potential hazards.JerryVan wrote: Thu Mar 18, 2021 1:16 pm As it's laying on it's back, be very careful to lift it up a bit before attempting to slide it out of your vehicle. Re: New 8-30x
Yeah, good advice. I plan on standing it up to move it.
