Victor castings

Post by rlb955 »

Who needs castings for the first generations Victor changers?
I'm going to make them starting with the selector change handle.

When you get to making record lift pad castings i'll probably be interested as the one I have isn't very good and doesn't fit very well even though when I bought it I was assured it would fit perfectly.

I'd be interested in a better-looking handle than the reproduction I have. The originals were slim and stylish, which probably was a factor in why they were easily broken, along with the added problem of them being pot metal. The reproduction is serviceable, but not much more. Will you use an original handle to make cast copies? Have you decided on what material to use? Thanks!

They will be cast off a very nice original. I will have them cast in brass for the strength this will also allow them to have a petina put on them to match the original look.

Actually, can you put me down for one as well as it never hurts to have a spare particulalry a brass one. Do you know the time scale for offering up other items such as the record lift pad? or the record size selector gears? I'll also send a PM.

Here is a photo of the original handle and the rough casting. I hope to have them finished in a couple of weeks.

Will you post a photo of the finished product and details when they're done and ready for sale here? I know I would probably like one for my 10-50.

Thanks!
