Unknown brand cylinder cabinet

Post by Hit of the Week »

I got this cylinder cabinet last week & would like to know who made it? It cleaned up very nice! It holds 150 cylinders. No markings other than "123 oak" stenciled on the bottom.
Dimensions:
17 ½" X 19 ½" top X 32 ½" tall
Peg's are 2" tall cardboard with green tops
Drawer knob's are not the same as Herzog
Finished on all sides. All four legs are the same.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Kudos for, in just over an hour, coming up with an ad from an old magazine based just off a picture posted by a member?
Those are some mad sleuthing skills!

Actually it looks better in person than in the pictures. The all original finish is darker & the flaking is much more pronounced. I probably gave too much for it , but it had 90 2 min. wax & 30 Blue Amberols
in it. The wax cyls. were dusty & whitish looking, but after cleaning with a damp cloth they turned back to a mint, shiny black with most not having any needle drops!

This is why I love this forum! I have the same cabinet and now I know more about its past - thank you James.

Just like you Dale I printed off a copy of the add and tucked it in the cabinet for future collector's reference.
