It looks as though the tonearm is broken? Didn't realize how much they look like the Credenza. I don't know much about these, is that an easy repair?

I am not sure if that’s a hard fix. I would venture a guess that other gold plated Brunswick tonearms would be the same size?

It also looks like the lid lifts aren’t working correctly, they have the lid propped open with a dowel. The finish on it looks great though....

I hope someone can get this, I promise you won’t be disappointed with how it sounds.

Those tone arms show up every now and then on eBay. I do not believe they're specific to the Cortez.

Since the tone arm is brass, I believe that the damage shown here is just a broken solder joint, easily repaired.

I was the first person through the door at the estate sale today, and I bought it. Thanks to Garret for the original post and to JerryVan for advice on price in the other Cortez thread. I plan to pick it up on Saturday (tomorrow). :clover:

I thought price was reasonable.

Awesome!

When I got mine I didn’t do anything to it except clean the cabinet. I’ve oiled the motor since, but I never rebuilt the reproducer or cleaned the motor. Hopefully it will be a somewhat easy fix for you!
