I picked this up off Facebook awhile back and am just now getting to fixing it up. Here’s some photos of it after I cleaned it up. The finish is worse than it looks in the photos, so I would appreciate opinions on whether to leave the finish or to re-do it. I would also appreciate opinions on how to repair the veneer damage on the speaker doors. The speaker cone is not ripped thankfully, but the grill cloth is. I’ll have to replace it.
I have the upper decorative piece, but I don’t have the decorative pieces that go onto the doors. So if anyone has those, can you send me a pm? I’m also missing the dangling piece on the right handle.
The amp has a short somewhere and I haven’t had time to take it apart and work on it. But hopefully in the new few weeks I’ll have some time to work on it.
Lastly, I know you can re-do the finish on the tonearm and pickup.Should I leave it worn the way it is? Or restore it?
Thanks,
David

Racky,
You’ll find a spare grille with good cloth and a set of door handles on eBay currently.
Which amplifier does your unit have? There are two varieties.

Hey Mark,
I am not sure which type. So here’s a picture of it
If you look closely at the top right side, there a completely exposed wire

I do not. Hopefully in a week or two I will have a day to work on it.

Is this the tube lineup? 26, 50, two 81's.

That's the later one with the 250 tube. It should sound really nice once you get it playing.

A grill on eBay sold within the past day; I hope you got it! If not I might have one, with cloth intact. Can you post a photo?

I am no longer in need of the hardware for the cabinet. (doors, grill, handles, and decorative pieces.) (Thank you Ron)! I was not the person who bought the grill off Ebay.
I will post more pictures of the machine when the parts arrive.
Cheers,
David

Doors and grill might not swap that easy on the 12-15's. I've had a couple of these machines and the doors and grill were pretty different. The 12-15 went thru three different configurations. Old Tomcat amp with 6" speaker, new AP-736 amp with 6" speaker, and finally new AP-736 amp with 8" speaker and compartment lamp. I think it might have been the speaker size that changed the doors and grill. The last configuration might be the rarest.
