I think part of the charm of the tiny machines is the assembly and disassembly of the talking machine. It's impressive to tuck all the parts into the box and closing it up and equally interesting to hear a record after the assembly. I think you lose a lot by using a large diameter sound box. I think I would attempt to modify an Exhibition if it fits into the machine's storage area.
