"No one needs a Victrola XX, a Perfected Graphophone Type G, or whatever you call those noisy things."

An intermediate depot for storing and treating the machine before going home would be advisable!

The sofa also looks like an unwholesome breeding ground, yet the gramophone appears to be in clean condition.

Oh my goodness....
But, I have to confess - I have been in some homes like that and have also gone to some "rough" sides of town to retrieve the right phonograph at the right price. Wear some gloves, get in and get out!
And, the previous poster is right, maybe some quality time in a garage or another safe zone while cleaning up prior to coming in the house. LOL

Part of the treatment could be playing several times the Sneeze/Snore record we've being discussing these days.. . that will surely frighten away any residents in the machine!

I was surprised and socked when I brought a Zenith transoceanic radio a few months. It came with some unwanted accessories. I got half a refund on this one and threw a lot of it out. I was a mess.

Maybe the rat died by electroshocking while trying to make his nest in the amp... Didn't he read the CAUTION warnings?

Those are some great musical decompositions.
