For Sale: Pair of Children’s Victrola's $300 Pr.

Post by columbia1spring »

This set of 2 Victrolas are being sold as a set. They are both complete and are fully operational with rebuilt Reproducers.
They play through a 10 inch record. They would benefit greatly with a motor cleaning and re grease.
I am asking $300 for the pair, plus shipping.

If they were mine, I would take the one that has some paint left on it and have the color scanned to produce the same color of paint. I would strip the paint off, since it is peeling and repaint it then get two sets of the decals from Gregg Cline. I would then paint the stained cabinet, install the graphics decals and have two children's Victrolas... I have seen a repainted example with Gregg Cline graphics and it looks great.

I have seen restored versions of the painted version and they do look beautiful when done.
Since the stained one is a VV- 1-1. And the painted one is a VV- 1-2. It’s best to leave them original as a set.

I would agree. I haven't seen a lot of 1-2's, but this one, while "bad", is actually above average. I would personally rather have an honestly worn original than a completely refinished example. That debate is endless of course.
