Everyone agrees with this sentiment until the slur in question targets them directly. But yeah, anyone with even a little exposure to internationalism should in good faith understand what the poster from the UK meant. My other hobby/ main income is classic German cars, and there is an old, venerable brand of German bearing that is also problematic on USA boards.

The nice thing about language is that it inspires creativity in saying the same thing using different terminology.
