Wanted: Cygnet crane for fireside

Post by Mormon S »

Hey everyone. I'm looking for a crane to hold my no.10 cygnet horn to my edison fireside. Original or repro, either is fine, thanks!

To obtain the proper Cygnet crane, you must specify whether you're using a Diamond B or a K/C/H on your Fireside. The lower rods differ on the two variants.

In the past I've gotten a repro cygnet crane from Wyatts Musical Americana and it was very good

I have one that I'm not using. I can unpack it and take a picture of it and some measurements if interested. Asking $35 plus shipping.

Sorry, I forgot that there was a difference. I need a fireside cygnet crane for a model C/K reproducer.

Thanks

I have one but don't remember what model it's for. I think the pole diameter is different. Maybe somebody will know the differences.

It's not the diameter of the crane rod that's different. For a horizontal carriage setup (diamond B), the bend is deeper to allow the horn to stand vertically, on top of the reproducer, so the horn doesn't hit the crane. For the C, H and K setup, with the angled carriage, the bend is shallower (less bend) to accommodate the angled carriage offset.

That What I thought. Then I have the 2 piece crane for the C, H, and K setup.

Thanks, Mark

Here a picture of what I have. When put together, the short part is 5 ½ inches and the long part with the chain is 18 ½ inches, ¼ inch in diameter.
I think this fix a Edison Gem and some Fireside models.
