rbuck, I also attended the Carl Householder collection auction in 1976. I don't remember the Fireside. But I bought his Edison Opera, which I think was $1025, and his Amberola III for $500. I sold them at auction in 2017 for $1700 and $1100.
If you still have the auction list, maybe you can confirm my memory on the prices. Also, if there is a description of the Opera, I'd be interested.

That class M had the funnel horn on it that I have been looking for a few years. It was a beautiful phonograph. I walked away with a couple of nice horns and a original speaking tube. The one that is flexible. I may be wrong on the terminology . One of the horns was a plain wrap red horn that I hope will fit my crown phonograph from India. The Crown is not a crap o phone but just well made in India. The other horn was a blue Linenoid horn that was in good shape. It is missing the tip that goes on the reproducer but can be used as is. I got it cheap. It was a nice meeting place with a lot of sales. Tom
