Brunswick seems to do a consistently nice job of "Japanning" their machines. The way they highlight the trim also helps add to the effect. The quality of Victor's handpainting seems a bit more variable....

so im starting to figure life out, by looking at your pic- the more work i were hypothetically were to do, would allow me to spend MORE not LESS time on collecting talking machines and disc aquisition? my god, look at the space you have. very impressive my dawg!

You may want to check out the "phonospace" thread - 36 pages of us displaying our machines, accessories, records, etc. My contribution is on the top of page 23. You'll get a lot of ideas of what's possible.
