Grafonola Decal

Post by cweastlick »

Does anyone have a clear, crisp picture of a Grafonola decal that has the words "Note the notes". I have an early Grafonola tabletop with that decal but it is very dark and I would like to see if Gregg Cline could make one.

Go to the "Links" section of our Forum and click on repairs & part. Go to Gregg Cline and check with him about the decal you need. His decals are amazing.

Here is the best picture I can get of it. Below it says "MADE IN USA".

Have you considered the Grafonola decals that Eduardo from Peru sells on ebay? I've purchased his HMV decals, and they are nicely made. Eduardo is great to deal with. Eduardo is seller epj24 on ebay.

Example that looks similar to yours (but no "note the notes"), unfortunately.

Yes, I checked with him as well and he does not have one like this either.

Just thinking "out loud"....... check old advertisements from the time period. Columbia ads are plentiful and are all over ebay, etc. Many of the old phrases and images appear in ads and the font is crisp in some of them.

Obtain the advertisement, take a high resolution scan, convert to the file type you need (.jpeg, .pdf) and take to a local custom print shop and see what they can come up with as far as a decal.

Or, you could provide the high resolution scan to someone here on the forum and maybe they can make a decal with a more "historically appropriate" process....

Hey, I have restored a few off brands phonographs that were destined for a landfill, so I have had to think outside the box on a few of these....

Could Greg work with this one? Maybe using PhotoShop, etc. to intensify the image?
