The stop screw should not be touching-it's designed to keep the needle bar from damaging the diaphragm in the event of rough handling. You can loosen the lock nut and carefully tighten the screw until when playing the sound is dampened. Then you back off the screw two or three turns and set the lock nut (described on page 278 in Baumbach's Look For The Dog).Victrolaman wrote:The little screw that's set about the needle bar is it supposed to be touching or not?
