I haven't unpacked very much yet from our move but here are a few pictures I took yesterday of our christmas tree and the only thing I have unpacked and tested so far - my 1937 HMV radio. Oh, and I included a recent picture I took of our local beach where we are heading off to on christmas day after present opening :) Weather is forcast to be good - sunny and 26 degrees celcius.

"santa" won't bring me any phono presents but I have a number of records waiting to be sent to me from the UK after the christmas post rush. a number of disks i've been hunting for for a while as well as 20 16" radio transcription disks - should be a good new year :)

ColoradoPhono,

I love your Home model B. I don't really know why or have good reason, but I'm a sucker for Edison Home Phonographs. Thanks for the nice Christmas thread though. I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday as well.

Here is my only phonograph related gift so far. I have been looking for a copy of this book for awhile but haven't been able to come up with one for a reasonable price until about two weeks ago. They are usually $100+, but I got very lucky and am very please with this gift!

I would love to send everyone our Christmas greeting card this year. But unfortunately many members choose to stay anonymous so I can't get the addresses! (Just kidding of course...had to throw it in there due to the recent thread about that subject.) : ) At any rate, here is our Christmas card being mailed out this year.

Hope all is well with everyone and also that you all have a safe and enjoyable holiday.

Best wishes,

Jeff, Amy, Elise and the baby due in February.

Colo phono,

Great thread, great picture. Black & white really give it that retro look.

Swingbandheaven, you win the prize for posting a picture of the place I'd most like to be! We have knee deep snow here now, sunrise 8am, sunset, 4:01pm yesterday!

Sonnyphono, appears you got to open some presents early! (the book) but I guess your biggest present comes in February!. Little Elise is really a cutie too. Very nice Christmas card.

We've not even put our tree up yet. We'll do that and hopefully in time to add to this thread.

Merry Christmas all or as all or as we say here,... Veselé Vánoce!

Valecnik,

About the unwrapped book...I bought that on eBay a couple weeks ago. I had bid on a couple copies over the last few months and lost both bids. I had bid to $125 and couldn't justify paying more than that. But I came across this copy a couple weeks ago and it had just been posted minutes before I found it with a buy it now price of $40. I bought it immediately and had to tell my wife it was an early Christmas gift. I convinced her not to wrap it so I wouldn't have to wait for Christmas to read it. : )

Thanks for the kind comment about Elise. And yes, we will have a great gift come February. Although after that I am sure I won't have nearly the time to spend on phonographs as I do now! :o

This is me on Christmas morning, 1962, with my new presents. I still have the accessory Victor horn 48 years later.... (My father found it in a junk shop around the corner from his work, for $3.)

A friend just sent me this wonderful Deutsche Grammophon New Year card from the year 1904 and I wanted to share it with you.

It's the opposite here(although it's 12.45am & 25degrees C). It's done nothing but rain for the last week. I'm not complaining though. I'd rather a wet christmas than hot sweaty weather we've had for the last 10 yrs.
I think Santa might be coming to me as in the picture below this year.

ps: I bet you didn't have beaches like that in UK :)

Anyway, I hope everyone on the board has a happy & safe christmas!
