I need a working portable phonograph tone arm to help a new collector. The pictures show the tone arm. The mounting end on the one they have is broken and will not pivot properly. As you can see , the one they have is pot metal and is from a Decca portable. Many of the portables used a similar tone arm with the 3 screw mounting. the tone arm does not need to be identical but it needs to pivot freely. The tone arm measures 7.5 " from the center of the base to the point where the reproducer attaches. Anything close to that measurement will work. Please let me know if you have one that might work. It would be nice to help her out.

this listing isn't too far from me.... I can possible meet up with the seller if you want? I can mail you the tonearm.
(I am not sure if it is still available. I just asked).

Hi Dave thanks for the reply. If he has it, Please ask if the tonearm moves freely side to side. It has been up for 22 weeks. Ask if they will take $35.

These are E. Toman die-castings. I have one but it's in South Carolina and I am in Connecticut--you can probably find one quicker than that.

Any idea when you may be able to access the one you have? the other one mentioned may or may not come about.

I am not sure--I moved for college. If I can remember where it is, I will ask some family to check the hiding spot for it. Mine came off a 1950s Silvertone portable.

Good to hear. I didn't think you'd have to look too far; these are one of the more common types of tonearm out there & they do perform well enough when in good shape.kendphono wrote: Wed Nov 10, 2021 8:09 am Thanks for your offer. Wyatt Marcus has one so i'm going to get that.
